You have to hand it to Capcom. For a company that gets derision for constantly remaking/master Resident Evil, they’re also the kings of drip-feeding lesser known – but still fondly remembered – classics. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, the various fighting compilations… yet still no Dino Crisis. Now, to accompany the first one, we’re getting Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny.

In real life, I am not a petrolhead. I own an old Audi that somehow miraculously goes, but that’s it. Don’t ask me how the current season of Formula One is going. But when it comes to gaming, I had a fancy for two things: rally games, and diddy little racers. So when #Drive Rally, a follow on of sorts from #DRIVE (that I reviewed here), the interest was certainly piqued. Ditching the endless runner (endless driver?) style for a fully-controlled rally title, #DRIVE Rally is as it says on the tin.

If you’ve kept up with Finger Guns over the years: firstly thank you, and secondly, you’ll know of my love for Street Fighter and Tekken. But whilst those two are the mainstays in my game, I do like to dabble with other fighters too. Yet through all the Bloody Roar’s and Rival Schools over the years (yes that’s irony as they’re dead franchises), Fatal Fury has never been on my radar. But now, twenty six years after the last main entry, one of SNK’s beloved series’ is back.

Most people, when they think of anime in the late 80’s/early 90’s, will often recall Akira. If not, it’ll be that really cool trailer that the Manga label used to put out: the one with all the wild, adult-content ones we weren’t allowed to watch: Wicked City, Project A-Ko, and the cat girls from Dominion Tank Police. What does Mullet MadJack have to do with this, you might be thinking? Well, everything, and we’ll get to that.

The First Berserker: Khazan plays like an amalgamation of all the spin offs of the Souls genre. The level structure and loot of Nioh, the dark fantasy roots of Berserk and Bloodborne, anime visuals akin to Code Vein. If you can name a motif that’s been inspired from Miyazaki’s seminal series, chances are you’ll find it here too. However, to call The First Berserker: Khazan a mere imitation of other titles would be to do it a massive disservice, a mistake I’d implore people not to make.

For once I'd love a Souls game to subvert expectations and not give a boss a ridiculously strong second phase.

I picked this up on a whim as it gave me old school Resi/Silent Hill/survival horror vibes. It's £12, and it's a rather lovely little title.

Post Trauma is OUT NOW!🖤 The Gloom awaits you on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's time. 👇 🔗https://t.co/vaG0O0QWKU 🔗https://t.co/rWA7Eg3ipm 🔗https://t.co/H4t6roMT8V https://t.co/pWyWzYNDyc
