The magnitude-3.4 earthquake's epicenter was 1.1 miles northwest of Pinole, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. A magnitude-3.4 earthquake struck the East Bay on Sunday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake's epicenter was 1.1 miles northwest of Pinole, in San Pablo Bay, at a depth of 5.8 miles. The USGS' Did You Feel It? survey showed reports of the quake being felt in San Francisco and Sunnyvale, and near Santa Rosa. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

You wouldn't know to look at it now, but the Academy Award that sits in a small San Francisco office above a bank has been through enough adventure, distress and mystery to warrant a movie of its own. That Oscar went missing, with no one knowing for sure how long, before reappearing in a Mission District pawn shop window. The widely celebrated local writer who first won it had reportedly used it as a garage doorstop or hat holder after a legendary clash with the film's studio head.

Francis Ford Coppola isn’t about to let fake movie reviews tarnish his new blockbuster film, “Megalopolis.” So he’s rating the movie himself. The legendary Bay Area director recently joined Letterboxd, a sort of social media app for film buffs. On Wednesday, he made his first “diary” entry, where users log the movies they watch with ratings of up to five stars. Guess how many stars Coppola gave his new film, which opens in theaters Sept. 27.
