    Stan Fryczynski is a man of many jobs, and on this particular weekday afternoon, he is an outdoor track and field official. “This is where my start was as a kid, cross-country and track,” he said, “so this is a giveback.”Fryczynski, 72, has given more than 50 years of his life to North Jersey high school sports, making an indelible mark as a coach, official, and, most notably, an administrator. Fryczynski is best known as executive director of the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference.

    Don Bosco has received the No. 1 seed for the 66th Bergen County Baseball Tournament. Pascack Valley is seeded No. 2, Ramapo is No. 3, and Ramsey is No. 4 in a 24-team tournament that opens Saturday with eight first-round matchups at the higher seeds and culminates with the championship May 24 at Demarest. The Bergen County tournament has introduced a new rule in which a top-eight seed must have played 15 games by the qualifying cutoff to receive a first-round bye.
