DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- It has now been one week since the kickoff of the NATO PA in Dayton. Several local businesses throughout downtown Dayton said the same thing, the conference negatively impacted their business. “This was more special than I think a lot of people realize, in terms of being on the world stage if you will," said Dayton mayor, Jeffrey Mims at Wednesday's city commission meeting.

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- While there’s limited access inside the village, many businesses nearby are still open for business and they’re encouraging everyone to continue to shop and spend locally this holiday weekend. “A week might not feel like a huge impact for a business, but for a small new business, it actually is," said Joui Wine owner, Lauren Gay. Gay is worried her business will take a hit as a huge section of downtown Dayton is closed off for the NATO parliamentary assembly.

Hundreds of global leaders, their staff, and family will be arriving in the Miami Valley for the four-day assembly. Preparations have been long underway, but your help is needed. Versiti Blood Center is asking donors to help stock supplies ahead of the assembly.
