The last time she played Canada at a Women's World Championship, she was a third-line winger and scored one of five U.S. goals in a heated gold medal match, which Canada won in overtime. After the game, Edwards was named tournament MVP at only 20 years old, the youngest player to ever win the award.

With two assists in the first period against Switzerland on Tuesday night, Knight pulled even with Canadian forward Hayley Wickenheiser's all-time assist record (49) at the tournament. After another assist in the second period - a setup for defender Caroline Harvey to make it 4-0 USA - Knight now stands alone at the top, with 50 career assists at women's worlds.

Motions to dismiss several charges against the man accused of killing NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, were denied in a Salem County (NJ) court on Tuesday afternoon. Lawyers for the accused, Sean M. Higgins, argued that some, if not all, of the grand jury indictment should be dismissed because the prosecution failed to present the evidence of the case completely.

U.S. defender Lee Stecklein opened the scoring midway through the first period with a point shot through traffic that beat Ann-Renée Desbiens. Megan Keller doubled the lead in the second period after finishing an end-to-end chance, which would ultimately be the game-winner.
