CHICAGO - Ryan Greene has watched as more and more players he's played alongside at Chicago Blackhawks development camps over the last few years have made their NHL debuts. Among them are Artyom Levshunov from the 2024 draft; Oliver Moore and Connor Bedard from the 2023 draft; and Kevin Korchinski, Frank Nazar and Sam Rinzel from Greene's 2022 draft class. "It's definitely pretty cool," Greene said recently.

LOUIS - Western Michigan University won its first-ever national title in its first-ever Frozen Four appearance on Saturday night, defeating five-time champs Boston University 6-2 in front of a sold-out crowd at the Enterprise Center. The national championship caps off a season that also saw the Broncos win their first NCHC title, completing the work done by head coach Pat Ferschweiler to turn Western Michigan into one of college hockey's top programs since his hiring in 2021.

LOUIS - Michigan State star Isaac "Ike" Howard was named this year's Hobey Baker Memorial Award winner - awarded each season to the top player in men's Division I college hockey - in a ceremony at the Stifel Theatre on Friday evening, the eve of the national championship game. Howard, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound winger who just turned 21 on March 30, was the Tampa Bay Lightning's 31st pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
