LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Laurens County Coroner’s Office reported that one teen has died in a car crash in Gray Court on Wednesday. Officials responded to reports of a vehicle accident involving a truck and sedan between Greenpond and Simmons Road in Gray Court at around 6:50 p.m.According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2017 GMC pickup truck was traveling south on Greenpond Road when it collided with a 2020 Hyundai sedan that was trying to turn left onto the road from Simmons Road.

GAFFNEY, S.C. (WSPA) – The U.S. Marshals announced that a major case fugitive was arrested Monday in Gaffney. The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 38-year-old Charles Ray Blevins, of West Virginia, at a house in the 300 block of Coach Hill Drive. Blevins was wanted by the Kentucky State Police for first-degree murder and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, as well as by the West Virginia Department of Corrections for a parole violation.

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Crews are hard at work as the Table Rock State Park wildfire continued to burn on Monday. The wildfire has burned more than 1,400 acres. So far, 0% of the fire has been contained. Pickens County Sheriff Tommy Blankenship said the fire was started by the “negligent act” of a group of teenage hikers, and has cut short efforts to locate Womacks. The sheriff added that there will be an increased amount of deputies on Highway 11 to help traffic keep moving.
