AbstractWe study an M/M/1 queueing system with two stages and impatient customers. When affected by the external environment, customers in different stages have different levels of impatience. In stage 1, reneging is forbidden, while in stage 2, customers renege at an exponential rate. We mainly study the impact of the waiting space in stage 2 on customers’ decisions, system profit and social welfare. It is shown that the customers’ balking threshold is independent of the renege rate.

AbstractCurrent cancer treatments are known for their low selectivity, and life-threatening toxicity. To solve these issue, various innovative approaches were applied. One of them is the inhibition of DNA repair mechanisms, which have been developed as a new hotspot for its selective inhibition and low toxicity. Notably, PARP inhibition has shown potential for effective targeted cancer therapy.

AbstractThe benefit of universal CAR-T cells over autologous CAR-T cell therapy is that they are a treatment that is ready to use. However, the prevention of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and host-versus-graft reaction (HVGR) remains challenging. Deleting class I of human leukocyte antigen (HLA-I) and class II of human leukocyte antigen (HLA-II) can prevent rejection by allogeneic T cells; however, natural killer (NK) cell rejection due to the loss of self-recognition remains unresolved.
