NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The heat will be the main story heading in to the weekend. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday will top out in the low to mid 90s for a good portion of the area, especially I-10 and northward. Overnight lows will stay warm with mid to upper 70s. Humidity will stay elevated as well. Heat index values will top out around 105 each afternoon which means you want to stay hydrated and try to avoid being out during the peak heating of the day.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The heat will be the main story heading in to the weekend. Temperatures Friday through Sunday will top out in the low 90s for a good portion of the area, especially I-10 and northward. Overnight lows will stay warm with mid to upper 70s. Look for mostly sunny conditions and then a few daytime heating showers popping up by later in the afternoon.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Humidity and moisture is on the way up heading in to Tuesday night and that trend continues over the week. Look for lows to be warmer and only in the low to mid 70s by Wednesday morning. Wednesday we will see more showers popping up by late morning and afternoon. The highest coverage of these will likely be along and south of I-10 thanks to onshore flow out of the east, but isolated showers will be possible to the north as well. These will be small but contain brief downpours.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Humidity is still relatively low Monday evening but that will change over the next few days. Look for one more relatively nice night with lows dropping into the mid 60s north and around 70 south. Tuesday will be similar to Monday with very low rain chances and temperatures in the upper 80s. By Wednesday though moisture moves back in and with it higher rain chances. Expect a better coverage of showers and storms by early to mid afternoon.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — One more round of rain and storms will move through Friday afternoon and evening before we see some changes in the pattern. Expect mid to upper 80s ahead of this rain for another hot and humid early afternoon. By mid afternoon another cluster of rain and storms begins to move in from the west. This will be followed by a rare late May cold front tonight. Locally heavy downpours will be possible again with a low chance of some strong wind or hail.
