Aged just 14, Emma Bryson reported to the police she had been raped and sexually abused for years as a child. The attacks happened while she was aged between ten and 13 but police told her they couldn’t take her case on. After high-profile sexual abuse reports against the notorious paedophile Jimmy Savile, Emma, now an adult, decided to report once more in 2016.

From belting out ballads to playing the pipes, buskers have brought life to Glasgow’s Buchanan Street for decades. But some artists worry the freedom to perform on the popular street is under threat after Glasgow City Council launched a public consultation into buskers to determine the extent of noise nuisance. Blues singer Rico Sonriente who performs in the city centre, feel this signals a “crackdown” on performances. Rico told STV News: “I think it’s ridiculous. Glasgow’s no stranger to music.

The number of women travelling from Scotland to England to receive later abortion care has increased by 55% in the past year, new figures show. In 2021, the number of women travelling to England was 42 but in 2022, new figures from the British Pregnancy Advice Service (BPAS), seen exclusively by STV News, show this increased to 65. Since 2019, 282 women have travelled from Scotland to England to attain the service.
