Kata Rasch was at Bespoked Manchester with her steel brazed hardtail. As a new builder landing in a foreign land and having a whole bunch of people ask you about your frame in a second language, it must have been quite an intimidating experience. I persuaded her to submit to a few questions about her work. Kata: I make custom frames, but I just started. This is my second frame and I’m still learning a lot and exploring. How did you end up being a maker of things?

Rosa Ter Kuile, who works under the name RTiiiKA, was at Bespoked Manchester with her range of bike inspired art, and drawing bike portraits. I’m in awe of anyone who can draw, and I liked the punk attitude in her creations, so I took a moment to ask her a few questions about her work. How did you become a maker of things? Rosa: About seven or eight years ago I went on a long bike trip. When I came back I knew that I wanted to apply myself to learning a creative skill. I wanted to make murals.

Unlike most idler-equipped bikes, the Norco Optic doesn’t have that much travel and its main pivot location isn’t all that high. Brand: NorcoProduct: Optic C1Price: £8,499From: Silverfish UKFun on a stickQuirkyWill get you into troubleThis C1 model is way too expensiveSome iffy spec choicesWill get you into troubleNB: Try to ignore the £8.5k price tag of this flagship ‘hero’ Optic build. It is entirely OTT. There is a Norco Optic C3 with decent build for £4,599.

Very heartened to see our new transport minister reading this! Implement even half of what this book suggests and it’ll be a huge step forward.

A spot of Sunday reading in between my Ministerial briefs. Really eye-opening and instructive https://t.co/Mm9gguTHx7

After many years working in swimming pools, I needed a trigger warning for this. 🫣💩🏊

Take the ups where you can get them

Very much enjoyed watching our disgraced former Home Sec being awarded Dick Of The Year. Good work @archiemanners & @joshua_pieters and the @TheLastLeg team 🫶 https://t.co/b0jVlgMIcr
