    NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The first week of meteorological summer will feel the part. Highs in the early parts of the week are in the upper 80s as humidity slowly builds back in. By late week, heat index values will be back in the low triple digits. A few scattered showers are possible in the afternoon on Monday. It’s a bit drier on Tuesday before another round of moisture on Wednesday afternoon. Rain chances increase in the latter half of the week with higher coverage of afternoon showers and storms.

    NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Lower humidity lingers through Sunday, making for a nicer feel. Dew points sit in the 60s with highs reaching the upper 80s. Feels-like temperatures will only sit in the low 90s in the afternoon. Spotty showers could pop up by midday. Lighting is the main threat. A hazy sky can be expected Sunday and Monday, as wildfire smoke moves south from Canada. This could affect those with allergies and asthma. The heat climbs back to the low 90s by the end of the week.

    NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A cold front has brought a nice feel for the weekend. Dew points dropped behind the front into the 60s, leaving a great dry feel behind. Highs will be in the mid-80s on Saturday. Mostly clear skies and lots of sun will make for a great day. Morning lows Sunday fall to the low 60s north of the lake and the low 70s south. The humidity will be slow to return, so Sunday still feels nice, but highs climb closer to the upper 80s.

    NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - This morning, we are tracking a squall line moving across southern Louisiana. The timing for the line to reach us is mid to late morning. Make sure you’re staying weather aware as you head out on your morning commute. Damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes are the main threats as the storms move through. By the afternoon, the storms will be clearing out, and we will see sunny skies return. Highs get to the upper 80s with heat index values in the mid to upper 90s.
