By Amy Fleury, Hannah HilyardClick here for updates on this story JUNEAU, Wisconsin ( WISN) - The man accused of abducting a pregnant Beaver Dam teen and sparking a multi-state Amber Alert made his initial appearance in court Thursday afternoon in Dodge County. Gary Day, of Arkansas, was extradited to Wisconsin on Wednesday after investigators said he spent the last two months on the run with 16-year-old Sophia Franklin. Police believe Day and Sophia met online last year.

WE BEGIN WITH BREAKING NEWS TONIGHT AT FIVE. A SINKHOLE SURPRISE. A DRIVER CAUGHT OFF GUARD WHEN HIS SUV TRIED TO NAVIGATE WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS A PUDDLE, AND THEN ENDED UP LODGED IN A HOLE FULL OF WATER. THIS HAPPENED IN MILWAUKEE’S GRANDVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD. THAT’S THE FAR NORTHWEST SIDE NEAR 107TH AND BROWN. THAT IS WHERE WE FIND 12 NEWS HANNAH HILYARD TONIGHT. HANNAH CREWS FREED THE SUV, BUT THAT SINKHOLE IS STILL THERE. RIGHT? SIREN. The man accused of abducting a pregnant Beaver Dam teen could soon return to Wisconsin. Gary Day appeared in a Nebraska courtroom Thursday for an extradition hearing. The 40-year-old is accused of abducting a now 17 year, who he'd met online last year. Investigators said he took her from her Beaver Dam home back in February. Investigators issued an Amber Alert in multiple states as they tried to track down the pair.

Fallout continues following the arrests of two men inside the Milwaukee County Courthouse complex. It comes as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Tuesday released the names of the two men detained. ICE said Marco Cruz-Garcia, 24, a citizen of Mexico, was arrested and detained on March 20. ICE said Cruz is a known member of the Sureños transnational criminal street gang. Cruz was ordered removed to Mexico by an immigration judge on Feb. 5, 2020, ICE said.
