CONYERS – JaNice Van Ness, chair of the Rockdale County Board of Commissioners, issued a statement saying the commissioners “respectfully urged” Gov. Kemp to veto Senate Bill 238 (SB238). If approved, the bill would ask Rockdale voters if they want to expand the Board of Commissioners from three to five members. In her statement, Van Ness wrote that the bill “proposes significant changes to the form of government in Rockdale County” without justification.
