12 August 2024Ukrainian soldiers have been fighting in the Russian border region of Kursk since Tuesday, attacking the aggressor's territory for the first time - officially, at least - since Russia's full-scale offensive began in February 2022. Moscow has indirectly admitted that Ukrainian forces advanced almost 30 kilometres into the country. Western tanks are also being deployed. Europe's press discusses the reasons for the offensive and the reactions from the Kremlin so far.
