    08 August 2024Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers in tanks have reportedly launched an incursion into the Russian border area of Kursk, penetrating several kilometres into the region. Russian authorities have evacuated several villages. In contrast to previous attacks, this advance was not led by Russian militias fighting on Ukraine's side, but by the Ukrainian military.     12 August 2024Ukrainian soldiers have been fighting in the Russian border region of Kursk since Tuesday, attacking the aggressor's territory for the first time - officially, at least - since Russia's full-scale offensive began in February 2022. Moscow has indirectly admitted that Ukrainian forces advanced almost 30 kilometres into the country. Western tanks are also being deployed.
