A new city councillor in Doncaster has been expelled from the Reform UK group over social media posts deemed “unacceptable” by party leaders. Residents in Doncaster have raised concerns about already stretched public services as the City of Doncaster Council prepares to make a decision on a huge 150 dwelling development. The plans, submitted by Stonebridge Homes, consist of 115 dwellings for “market housing” and 35 dwellings for “affordable housing” would be built off of Hatfield Lane in Barnby Dun, Doncaster.

156 people have signed a petition raising concerns over a 53 dwelling residential development – made up entirely of affordable housing – proposed for vacant land in Doncaster. An additional 73 letters were submitted to the City of Doncaster Council’s planning committee opposing the plans submitted by developers Strata and trustees of RS Williams. The sheer volume of representations has meant the development was referred to the Doncaster Council planning committee for a decision.
