According to Jessica Gribben, economic development manager for Shelby and northern Richland County, the discount store is projected to open April 17. Noticeable changes have been ongoing at the 11 Mansfield Ave. storefront, including updated signage and branding added to the building’s exterior.

    MANSFIELD — Richland County’s hazard mitigation plan is due for an update. Last refreshed in 2021, the county’s current plan is set to expire in June 2026 and must be updated every five years, according to Richland County EMA Director Rebecca Owens. The agency is currently in the process of applying for a grant in collaboration with the Ohio EMA, who will submit the consolidated ask to the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program.

    SHELBY — The Shelby City Health Department is ready to help residents get started on their spring cleaning. Shelby residents are invited to participate in the department’s annual community cleanup campaign, which is scheduled for Friday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.According to the department, there will be no curbside pick-up service this year. Residents are being asked to bring all items to the city’s electric department parking lot at 73 W.
