A governor’s work is never done. Several contestants were taking part in the Hampton Beach Lobster Roll Eating Competition when a man on stage began to motion that something was wrong. He hit his chest multiple times, but the crowd didn’t seem to notice.

It was a moment that broke the internet: 17-year-old Gus Walz tearfully leaping to his feet Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention, pointing at his father, vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, up on stage, and proudly mouthing the words: “That’s my dad!”Clips of the ecstatic teenager, who has a non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder, filled social media feeds and news stories around the country, but not everyone found the moment heartwarming.

The Sumner Tunnel is shut down for repairs through Aug. 5, an aterial blockage in the heart of Boston sure to raise the blood pressure of commuters far beyond city limits. The good news is, the nearly 90-year-old Sumner will only be closed for a month this summer. (Last year, you’ll recall, repairs kept it shuttered for two.) But the abbreviated schedule will be of little comfort to agitated drivers seeking passage to Downtown Boston from Logan Airport, East Boston, and many other points north.

The July 4th fireworks celebration in Marblehead has been canceled after a barge went up in flames overnight, event organizers said. “There was a fire on the barge in the middle of the night,” Marblehead Fireworks and Illumination said in social media posts. “Fire Marshals office is investigating. The Fire Marshal won’t allow our vendor to perform any fireworks until determination of how the barge was able to catch fire.”A message to the state fire marshal’s office was not immediately returned.
