A shooting outside of BJ’s in Dedham early Wednesday morning left one person dead and another injured, authorities said. Upon receiving multiple 911 calls, Dedham police and fire personnel responded to the parking lot at BJ’s on Route 1 shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to a joint statement from the Norfolk district attorney’s office and Dedham Police Department. An investigation by State Police detectives and Dedham police remains ongoing.

A young boy suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a trash truck that was collecting curbside waste in Amesbury on Tuesday morning, officials said. Amesbury fire and police personnel responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle at the intersection of California Street and California Lane shortly before 9 a.m., according to a statement from the fire department.

It was an emotional scene both inside and outside Norfolk Superior Court on Wednesday, as a jury declared Karen Read “not guilty” of second-degree murder in the January 2022 death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe.
