Among travellers in 14 countries, Canadians were most likely to turn to travel advisors to book hotels. In a 14-country study, Canadians were most likely to use a travel advisor to book accommodations – and also the most reluctant to use AI. About 15% of Canadian travellers will use a travel advisor to book their hotels in 2025 – although Canucks were also the most likely to start our hotel search by asking family and friends.

ACV has a new Ontario sales manager -- Sandra Joaquim. Joaquim comes to the tour operator from Travelsaver Canada, where she briefly served as Director of Supplier Marketing. Before that, she spent almost five years at retag.ca, rising through the ranks from Account Manager to Senior Director of Supplier Relations and Business Development. She has also worked in marketing for Transat. She brings extensive travel industry experience to the role.

WestJet has done it again. An airline that’s known for its cheeky, fun advertising and marketing campaigns posted an ad on Instagram on U.S. election day that highlighted one-way tickets to Canada. The ad shows the green WestJet logo and the words “One-Way Flights to Canada.” Below that is a tag line that says “Stressful day. Could be a nice getaway.

The group embarked in Budapest for the second ACTA Avalon River Cruise Summit, where we were joined by a team of partners and hosts from ACTA, Avalon, Manulife and Air Canada.
