At times, it’s hard to keep up with all the new releases during Watches and Wonders. A good example is the stream of great ones from Patek Philippe. The brand unveiled a total of 15 new references this week that all deserve our attention. But where do you start? One glance made that very clear for me. Forget everything called Cubitus or Calatrava. The 5370R split-seconds chronograph in rose gold is the absolute highlight from Patek Philippe this year for me.

Tudor takes its dive watches rather seriously, and the new Tudor Pelagos Ultra is about as serious as they come. The brand has been making divers since 1954. Back then, their deepest-diving model had a humble water resistance rating of 100m. Since then, the brand has kept busy evolving, looking to improve its formula. For the second year in a row, the Rolex releases were leaked on social media. Therefore, the new Land-Dweller collection was expected. Still, with Rolex, seeing photos hardly exposes all the details. The headline news is clear, though, and the largest brand is back in the market with its first integrated bracelet model since 2003. It wasn’t long ago that I penned an article on modern brands that should consider quartz. The original Rolex Oysterquartz made my list of suggestions.
