Two years ago, IWC introduced the new iteration of the Ingenieur as a capsule collection. Three steel and one Grade 5 titanium creation debuted, resembling the 1976 Ingenieur SL ref. 1832, an original Gérald Genta design. A blue-dial version was missing from the original lineup, but it came eventually. For this year’s Watches and Wonders, IWC presents a plethora of new Ingenieur watches.

Also, a new beads-of-rice bracelet is now an option for all Carrera Chronograph Glassbox models. For enthusiasts, the Carrera Day-Date may not be as exciting as a new chronograph, but these watches are the heart and soul of the collection.

Tudor takes its dive watches rather seriously, and the new Tudor Pelagos Ultra is about as serious as they come. The brand has been making divers since 1954. Automatic movements, a healthy spec sheet, and affordable pricing make the return of these watches a welcome one. I’ll kick off today’s article with my thoughts on the market, and then we’ll look at several lots. My colleague Lex recently penned an article about the current sales slump the global watch market is facing. In particular, he means the market for new watches.
