A child has been airlifted to hospital after "falling from height" from a property in a busy Welsh town centre. Emergency services including police, paramedics and a Wales Air Ambulance were called to Broad Street in Newtown, Powys, on Friday evening, May 30. It followed reports a child had been injured. The youngster was flown to hospital by air ambulance for treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening or life-changing.

There are severe delays across the south Wales road network this morning as unprecedented levels of wind and rain are causing chaos on the roads. The M48 Severn Bridge has closed in both directions, according to National Highways, due to "high winds" and traffic is being diverted over the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge, where an increase in traffic is causing delays of 20 minutes for drivers heading over the border.

Emergency services are tackling a fire in the Leckwith area of Cardiff and have warned of multiple road closures. The fire was first reported at around 2am on Tuesday morning, on Brindley Road. Surrounding roads such as Penarth Road are currently closed in both directions, and police warn they will remain closed for some time. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "We're at the scene of a fire on Brindley Road, Leckwith.
