Previous experiments have provided evidence of sliding ferroelectricity and photoexcited interlayer shear displacement in two-dimensional materials, respectively. Herein, we find that a complete reversal of vertical ferroelectric polarization can be achieved within an astonishing 0.5 ps in h−BN bilayer by laser illumination.

Electrogenic biofilms, which have attracted considerable attention in simultaneous wastewater treatment and energy recovery in bioelectrochemical systems, are regulated by chemical communication and potassium channel-mediated electrical signaling. However, how these two communication pathways interact with each other has not been thoroughly investigated.

In the last two decades, with the realization of nanoscale ferroelectricity,1 ferroelectric tunnel junctions (FTJs), which comprise two electrodes separated by an ultrathin ferroelectric barrier, have attracted significant attention due to their immense potential in applications such as nonvolatile memories and integrated circuits.2,3 Polarization reversal within FTJs instigates a modification in the resistance, called tunneling electroresistance (TER).4,5 Developing strategies to improve the...

Prior to the assessment of hypothesis, mode-fit indices were examined to find out whether the data optimally fits with the conceptual model. It was essential to conduct the confirmatory factor analysis as the aim of the study was to test the theory. We therefore, the examined the famous model fit indices generated through Mplus i.e., chi-square, SRMR, RMSEA, CFI, and TLI, and their values were compared with the cut-off criteria.
