AbstractArginine vasopressin (AVP) has been reported to regulate insulin secretion and glucose homeostasis in the body. Previous study has shown that AVP and its receptor V1bR modulate insulin secretion via the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. AVP has also been shown to enhance insulin secretion in islets, but the exact mechanism remains unclear.

Arabidopsis ecotype Columbia (Col-0) was used for transformation and phenotypic analysis. All Arabidopsis plants were grown in a growth chamber with a 22 °C, 16/8 h day/night photoperiod, and 70% relative humidity. Rice variety Zhonghua11 was used for Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of rice callus cells, as previously described [46]. Hygromycin at 50 μg/mL was used to select transgenic calli, and transgenic plantlets were regenerated on selective medium 10 ~ 12 weeks later.

We performed MGA for 8 de novo assembled Arabidopsis genome sequences (An-1, C24, Cvi-0, Eri-1, Kyo, Ler-0, Sha, and Col-0) [10, 34] and 26 genome sequences of maize NAM founder lines [11] using ACMGA and Cactus and compared them with the previously published short-read WGS variant calling results [35, 36]. To compare variant callings obtained from different methods, we artificially introduced a reference genome for each reference-free MGA.

AbstractThe rust resistance genes Lr53 and Yr35 were introgressed into bread wheat from Aegilops longissima or Aegilops sharonensis or their S-genome containing species and mapped to the telomeric region of chromosome arm 6BS. Wheat leaf and stripe rusts are damaging fungal diseases of wheat worldwide. Breeding for resistance is a sustainable approach to control these two foliar diseases.
