LAKE VIEW, S.C. (WMBF) – A historical landmark in Lake View is in jeopardy because of floodwaters brought on by Tropical Storm Debby. Lake View Mayor Sterling Lee said he was expecting some flooding from the storm but wasn’t expecting it to happen so fast. He said crews in the town took every precaution by draining Pages Millpond which is the main pond in the town but it wasn’t enough for Debby’s downpours.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) -- You’ve now got a new place to grab a bite to eat and a drink in one of Myrtle Beach’s fastest-growing areas. The “Island Vibez Cafe & Coffeehouse” held a ribbon cutting on Broadway Street Thursday afternoon. The shop is the latest addition to Myrtle Beach’s Arts and Innovation District. Owners, Rechel Anderson and Lisa Combs say they’ve been dreaming about opening this coffee shop for years.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – It’s a blast from the past when you step into one Myrtle Beach area golf store. Golf Knickers, which is located on Highway 17 Business heading toward Surfside Beach, offers up some old-school fashion for golf enthusiasts. The owners of the shop are from New York but came down to the Grand Strand in the early 2000s. The store sells old-school golf knickers, shirts, socks and hats. It also provides an array of colors and patterns.

DARLINGTON, S.C. (WMBF) - Darlington Raceway is getting set to wave the green flag on its first races under new leadership. New track president Josh Harris spoke to WMBF News on Thursday, a little more than a week out from The Track Too Tough To Tame’s annual “Throwback Weekend” from May 10-12. “We’re just a little over a week away and the track is ready to go,” said Harris. “There’s activity picking up around the track so it’s getting exciting.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF/Gray News) - A South Carolina couple’s dream vacation has turned into a nightmare at sea this week. Jill and Jay Campbell say they are currently stranded on a small island off the coast of Africa after their cruise ship left without them. “We were waiting for the tender boats to come back and get us because our boat was anchored off the harbor, but they didn’t come back to get us. So, we’re stranded here,” Jay Campbell said.
