HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is asking the public to prepare for dangerous heat over the summer. In a press release issued Friday morning, DHHS said that temperatures in Nebraska can get up into the 100s from June until even September. The press release provided tips for staying safe and cool like staying inside, wearing light and loose fitting clothes, limit outdoor activities, and hydrate if you do have to go outside.

(KNOP) - An aluminum shortage is leading to a shortage of license plates for some Nebraska residents, leading to anger directed at local DMVs.Due to the pandemic, the amount of aluminum on the market went down, and earlier this year the state of Nebraska was having trouble obtaining the amount of aluminum needed to produce all of the license plates that each county would need for the entire year.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Youth from across Lincoln County attended a farm safety course held at the Nebraska Extension Center by the University of Nebraska Medical Center. This session is held for teenagers who are 14 and 15 so that they can earn a certificate that gives them the eligibility to work on farms at that age. One of the coordinators, Ellen Duysen, stressed how important this is for kids to learn about.
