OSOSO (AKOKO-EDO) – The Edo State Government has given illegal gold miners in Egbetua Autonomous Community in Ososo a seven-day ultimatum to vacate the mining site or face the full wrath of the law. This follows the recent uncovering of illegal gold mining activities in the community located in Akoko-Edo Local Area of the state.

An illegal gold site has been uncovered in Egbetua autonomous community in Ososo, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. Investigation revealed that the gold mining site, located inside the Odo bush about 15 kilometres from the main town of Ososo, has been in operation secretly and quietly for over 25 years.

Delta State has won the Seventh Edition of the National Youth Games, tagged “Asaba 2023”, as Team Edo finishes in the third position. This year’s competition hosted by Delta kicked off on September 20 and ended September 30 in Asaba. The final medals table released by the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the 10-day long event, saw Team Delta emerge champions of the competition after raking in a total of 51 gold, 34 silver, and 31 bronze medals.
