The Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Ways and Means Advance has accused the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) of frustrating its investigation into the N30 trillion Ways and Means Advance and the Anchor Borrowers’ programme under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. The committee made the accusation after receiving an interim report from its consultants at a meeting where they expressed frustration over the bank’s failure to provide crucial documents required for the probe.

Nine pregnant women have been rescued from a baby factory in Abuja, the nation’s capital. The victims were rescued by officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the agency said on Thursday. In a statement, spokesperson of NAPTIP, Vincent Adekoye, said the baby factory is situated at one of the sprawling estates in the Ushafa area in the Federal Capital Territory.

Angry students of the University of Ibadan in Oyo State have staged a peaceful protest against the 82-day power outage at the University College Hospital. UCH Ibadan is the teaching hospital where medical students from UI are trained. The teaching hospital has been experiencing a power outage since last year due to debts owed to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
