A man from Pennsylvania is being held in jail after Merrimack police said he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl.Police said the alleged victim and Keith Hanley, 20, met on Snapchat through someone else. They said the two were living in the same house for about a month after the teenager's grandparents bought him a bus ticket to New Hampshire. Hanley is charged with one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault and was ordered held on preventative detention after his arraignment Friday.

New Hampshire health officials say 71 flu-related deaths have been reported this flu season in the state, the most ever recorded since record-keeping began 30 years ago. The Department of Health and Human Services reported that someone has died of flu-related causes in every county of the state this season. According to DHHS, one of the flu-related deaths was a child. New Hampshire first began tracking flu-related deaths in the 1994-95 flu season.

A man accused of leaving a 1-year-old girl to drown in a bathtub in Manchester more than five years ago is now on trial. In opening statements Wednesday, prosecutors said Zachary Conway was careless and high on drugs when the child drowned. Conway's attorneys said there's no denying that the girl's death was tragic, but they said it was an accident. Defense attorneys said Conway was not under the influence of drugs when the child drowned, but he was sick and being treated for pneumonia.

A new plan to reduce accidents along the Route 106 corridor is officially underway. The law enforcement campaign is called a high-visibility enforcement effort. Starting Sunday, additional patrol units will be on the lookout for dangerous driving behaviors like speeding, distracted driving and reckless driving. Just two days ago, five people were hospitalized after a serious head-on crash along Route 106 in Belmont, which connects the Lakes Region to the Capital Region.

Power outages are a concern with this weekend's storm from potential icing that could happen in parts of New Hampshire. The rain starts to turn to freezing rain throughout the night, and could start sticking to tree limbs weighting them down then those limbs could fall onto the power lines, which then causes issues to the electric system. . New Hampshire Electric Co-Op said they've got plenty of restoration crews on call Saturday night. "Wherever the help is needed, folks will be able to get there.
