Mother-Lovin' 5K celebrating moms across the region

SARATOGA SPRING, N.Y. (NEWS10) – In appreciation of all Capital Region moms on Mother’s Day, over 1,200 people gathered at the Saratoga Spa State Park for a decade-old tradition called the Mother-Lovin 5K. The event raised about $100,000 for the families of those in the region who have passed away from cancer or other illness or who are battling a life-threatening condition. Kelly’s Angels, is the organization that holds the 5K.

Climbers scale 42 flights of stairs to raise money for cancer

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Nearly 150 people climbed for a cause at the Corning Tower Saturday morning. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) held their second-ever ‘Big Climb’ in the Capital Region. A group of determined individuals gathered at the tower around 9:00 a.m. to meet up with their teams and prepare to climb the entirety of the tower, which is 42 flights.

(NEWS10) – Lucas Healey appeared in Albany County Court Friday morning after being convicted by a jury in January on robbery and assault charges stemming from an incident that took place in May of 2024. Healey attacked Shogun Sushi restaurant co-owner Su Wen Zheng, leaving him with brain injuries and lifelong health issues. Zheng was punched in the face after trying to intervene after Healey racked up a $400 tab, paid $50, and attempted to leave without paying the rest of the bill.
