At approximately 2:04 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to a crash on Interstate 64 eastbound at Settlers Landing Road in Hampton. Three vehicles were involved in the crash, including a motorcycle. According to state police, the motorcyclist is suffering from life-threatening injuries. All lanes are blocked near the Settlers Landing Road exit, and traffic is being rerouted at Armistead Avenue. Expect heavy delays. No further information is available at this time.

Newport News Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred in May. Benjamin Forrest Carter, 29, of Newport News, was arrested on Saturday and charged with first-degree murder, as well as several weapons offenses, in the death of Karen Yvonne Watkins, according to police. He was earlier identified as a suspect in the case. Karen Yvonne Watkins, 37, of Norfolk, was shot in the southeast section of Newport News, in the area of 27th Street and Wickham Avenue.

The Norfolk Department of Public Health issued a swimming advisory for North Community Beach at 700 East Ocean View Ave in Ocean View. After water testing that was conducted yesterday revealed bacteria levels at this site exceeded state water quality standards, signs were posted to alert the public. Health officials will continue testing the water, according to a release. Posted signed will be removed and the public will be notified when the bacteria levels decrease and meet state standards.

At 2:39 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service in Wakefield, VA, issued a tornado watch for a areas in Hampton Roads, including Hampton and Newport News. Other nearby areas affected by the watch include Poquoson, Williamsburg, Gloucester, James City and Yorktown. Cities and counties in central, east central and eastern Virginia are under a watch, as well. The tornado watches are in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday.
