1 INTRODUCTION In January 2022, the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) came into effect (WHO, 2019) and officially recognized gaming disorder (GD) as its second behavioral addiction disorder. Gaming disorder is defined as “a pattern of persistent or recurrent gaming behavior” manifested by three symptoms: (1) impaired control over gaming, (2) increasing priority given to gaming, and (3) continuation of gaming despite the occurrence of negative consequences.
