The N.C. High School Athletic Association boys golf championships are next week, featuring two 18-hole rounds across Monday and Tuesday. The 4A championships are held at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 8 (Monday at No. 2, Tuesday at No. 8), 3A is at Gates Four in Fayetteville, 2A is at Pinehurst No. 6, and the 1A championship is at the Longleaf Golf & Family Club in Southern Pines. Each classification has four regionals to determine who advances to states.

The top half of the HighSchoolOT statewide girls soccer rankings are about the same as a week ago, with Providence Day tumbling a few spots to 11th. Leesville Road and Lake Norman Charter lead the changes in the bottom half, both joining the rankings this week as A.C. Reynolds and T.C. Roberson both dropped out. Providence Day's first loss of the season dropped the Chargers from second to fourth in this weke's HighSchoolOT girls lacrosse statewide rankings. Chapel Hill and rival East Chapel Hill are now second and third going into the last week of the regular season. There were no new teams, but a lot of changing of positions in the lower half of the rankings. Cardinal Gibbons remains No. 1, with all five of its losses coming to out-of-state teams.
