Rose 1-0 for the 3A NC High School Athletic Association state title. The Game 3 victory Saturday at Ting Park gave the Knights the best-of-three series. After a crushing 4-3 loss in the bottom of the seventh on Friday, North Lincoln rallied to win the 11 a.m. Saturday game 2-0 to set up Game 3.

High School Association 3A softball best-of-three championship series that one run could potentially be enough to win. As it turned out, it would be enough to become a champion.

HOLLY SPRINGS — Uwharrie Charter bounced back from a one-run Friday night loss to force a third game against Perquimans in the NC High School Athletic Association 1A baseball best of three championship series. The Eagles, who lost 4-1 in Friday’s opener, scored six runs in the first inning of Game 2 to secure a 6-4 victory on Saturday at Ting Park in a game that began at 2 p.m. The outburst withstood Perquimans rallies in the fourth and fifth innings.
