Yatsuse Hiiragi is a bright young man with one major problem - he's a complete pushover. Constantly taken advantage of by his school friends and forced into arrangements by his overbearing father, his life is one of constant frustration and disappointment. After the latest is a string of humiliations, wherein he pretends to be a classmates boyfriend to impress her friends (which ultimately fails anyway) he dejectedly walks home, only to see a girl struggling to pay her bus fair.

Having appraised the first episode of Studio WIT's Grimm Variations (Cinderella) over on The Anime Independent, time now to look at the series as a whole. Does the anthology series live up to the initial promise of the opener, or do we have a mixed bag? So to recap, The Grimm Variations takes inspiration from classic fairy tales, mixed in some anime goodness, a different well-known director and creative team for each episode and ties them all together thematically.

As Delicious in Dungeon lands on its halfway mark, the series reaches a natural break and as such, I figured it was time to dive in beyond my First Thoughts article on our sister site and dive into the first major story arc for what appears to have been a monster hit globally. The setup is simple - a dungeon exploration party runs afoul of a red dragon, losing one member and seeing a number of others quit since all the treasure was lost in the escape.
