In its quest to win three straight state championships, St. Charles Catholic remained unbeaten with a 32-14 win over De La Salle on Friday night at Frank Monica Field in LaPlace. Senior wide receiver Daniel Joseph led the Comets with 124 yards on five catches with a 71-yard touchdown. “It’s his ability to run after the catch, especially when De La Salle was playing physical and trying to force a fumble,” Comets coach Wayne Stein said of Joseph’s stellar play.

John Curtis went plenty deep into its depth chart after scoring six touchdowns in the first half on the way to a 51-0 rout of Central Lafourche in a nondistrict opener Friday at The Shrine on Airline. The Patriots led 21-0 in the first quarter when the second-team offense took the field. Backup quarterback Reggie Johnson and running back Jacobi Boudreaux helped increase the lead to 41-0 before halftime.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Crusader quarterback Seth Dazet earned a hat trick on Thursday night at Tad Gormley, throwing for three touchdowns in Brother Martin’s 28-0 victory over Madison Preparatory Academy in the Week 1 season opener. Dazet found running back Jordan West on a 6-yard connection to put Brother Martin up, 7-0. Later in the first quarter, Dazet heaved one over the middle to Cullen Caminita, who ran 40 more yards into the endzone for a 65-yard touchdown and a 14-0 halftime lead.
