What an unbelievable golf shot. McIlroy currently sits three shots back of leader Justin Rose, who's 8 under through two rounds. McIlroy birdied the second hole and parred seven straight to shoot a 1-under 35 on the front nine, but he caught fire with birdies on 10 and 11 and an eagle on 13. The key for McIlroy now is to finish the second round strong. Remember, he was 4 under through 14 holes on Thursday before making two double bogeys in his last four holes to fall back to even par for the day.

McIlroy could argue he should be No. 1 on this list after winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship this year, but he's more worried about conquering his Masters demons and ending his 11-year major drought. This has to be the year for him. Scheffler will remain at the top until he gives us any reason to drop him down a notch. The World No. 1 won nine times last season and is going for his third green jacket in four years.
