PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - Some scary moments were caught on a family’s security camera this week as a wild animal decided to run through their backyard. Homeowner Charlie Schmidt shared video from his northeast Portland home that showed a coyote chasing his young daughter at their house. He was working in the yard when suddenly the animal appeared in the video along with his little girl who can be seen running toward the house.

MOUNT ADAMS, Wash. (KPTV/Gray News) – Scientists are installing new monitoring equipment around Mount Adams amid a spike in seismic activity under the volcano. Mount Adams, located in Washington state, usually experiences an earthquake every two or three years. But, in September this year alone, there were six recorded earthquakes. This is the most in a single month since monitoring began in 1982. So, scientists have decided to install extra temporary sensors in the Mount Adams area.

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - Authorities in Oregon pulled over a stolen vehicle and found a bag full of drugs, that ironically had “Not a Bag Full of Drugs” printed on the outside of it. Portland Police officers found a stolen car near SE 162 and Division. When officers pulled over 37-year-old Mia Rochelle Baggenstos and 35-year-old Reginald Lamont Reynold, they found more than just a stolen car.

GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - Newly released video shows the rescue of a climber who had fallen 700 feet on Mount Hood. According to authorities, a 55-year-old man was climbing a very steep route known as the Old Chute route Saturday morning when he slipped. The climber was unable to stop his fall due to the frozen, snowy surface and tumbled about 700 feet.
