A prominent Philadelphia rapper known for promoting positive messages was gunned down during a robbery Sunday afternoon in Juniata, authorities said. Qidere Johnson, 30, of North Philadelphia, who went by the moniker LGP Qua, was shot just before 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of M and Luzerne streets, according to police. When officers arrived at the scene, he had already been taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died a short time later, the PPD said.

A SEPTA rider was in critical condition and four other people were hospitalized after a Norristown High Speed Line train crashed Sunday morning in Montgomery County, officials said. The incident occurred at around 9:45 a.m., when a one-car NHSL train collided into a safety bumper at Norristown Transportation Center, the line’s northern terminus, SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch said. Busch said the operator and four passengers were injured and transported to local medical centers.

Four people, including three teenagers, were injured when a man opened fire inside a SEPTA bus Saturday evening in Brewerytown, police said. Investigators believe the suspect, described as being in his early 40s, began shooting during a verbal altercation with a group of teens. The incident happened at around 6:15 p.m. aboard the Route 15 bus at 33rd Street and Girard Avenue, adjacent to Fairmount Park.

A woman whose body was found in the Schuylkill River in East Falls on Saturday morning allegedly killed her husband and threatened her adult son earlier in the day in Montgomery County, authorities said. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele is handling the case as a “murder-suicide, attempted murder” investigation, his office said in a joint statement Sunday alongside the Upper Merion Township and Upper Dublin police departments.

A 12-year-old boy was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in West Oak Lane, investigators said. Officers responded just after 12:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of E. Pastorius Street, where they found the child with gunshot wounds, authorities said. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center and died a short time later, according to the PPD.
