SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The U.S. has seen a measles outbreak this year with 1,168 confirmed cases in 34 different states and three deaths, according to the CDC. There have been two confirmed cases in Missouri, one in southwest Missouri. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the confirmed case was a child who traveled internationally to Taney County in April. Health officials do not believe the virus was widespread spread in the community.
