LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Once again, the big story will be the heat and humidity that builds through our Thursday afternoon and evening. We’ll continue to see a mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon and evening helping to boost temperatures back into the lower 90s. Rain chances will remain very limited with only a few spotty showers and storms developing, but where they do develop it could produce locally heavy rainfall.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Rain and storm chances are remaining spotty as we head through the afternoon as heat and humidity continue to build. Temperatures will continue to warm as we head through our Wednesday afternoon with many areas heading into the lower 90s. Heat index values will be more of a factor today compared to the last few days as we sit closer to 100 at times.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - We’ll rinse and repeat as we head through our Tuesday and heat and humidity continue to build with limited rain chances. A mix of sun and clouds can be expected once again as we head through our Tuesday afternoon as high pressure continues to slowly drift south and east. We can rule out the chance for an isolated shower or storm through the afternoon and evening as we see the peak heating of the day mixing with our moisture.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Quiet weather will return to start off our week, but things will be a touch more unsettled to end it as showers and storms return. The big difference we will feel is the warm and muggy mornings as we struggle to cool below the middle 70s for most mornings. Afternoons will be hot and humid as well as many areas approach 90 degrees each day and then feel even warmer as we are seeing heat index values near 100 degrees.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - After a break in rain and storms yesterday, the chance for scattered showers and storms returns for our Friday. We could see two waves of showers and storms as the first batch of rain slowly loses steam as it moves into Southwest Louisiana this morning. As we add daytime heating with sunshine and humidity, it will help to spark another round of showers and storms as we head through the afternoon and early evening.
