EDISON, NJ - On April 9 at the Pines Manor, South Plainfield High School's Ava Chapman and Ryan Rizk were honored along with more than 70 student-athletes from Middlesex County high schools at the 24th annual Dan Hayston Memorial Middlesex Conference Sportsmanship Awards Luncheon. Each of the participating high schools in the Greater Middlesex Conference nominated two student-athletes to receive recognition for their sportsmanship on and off the playing field.

EDISON, NJ - The township has announced the 2025 Mayor’s 24-Mile Bike Ride for Edison and Metuchen, according to a flyer. The event is sponsored by Mayor Sam Joshi and the Recreation Department. Registration will be $10 and can be done by clicking here. The bike ride is scheduled for Sunday, May 18 at the Edison Municipal Complex located at 100 Municipal Boulevard. Check-in will be at 8:00 AM, the ride will start at 9:00 AM and will end at approximately 2:00 PM, according to the township.

EDISON, NJ - The township and Mayor Sam Joshi have announced a new entertainment center called Albatross opening at 991 US Route 1. The new entertainment hub is expected to bring over 250 jobs to Edison Township, according to a press release. An official opening date has not been announced at this time. The 50,000 square foot entertainment center features the world's largest indoor mini-golf course, luxury bowling lanes, and a full-service bar and restaurant, according to a press release.

EDISON, NJ - Two men have been arrested and charged for possessing a ghost gun and narcotics with the intention of selling, according to police. EDISON, NJ - An Edison-based company has recalled their line of blender bottles due to safety concerns, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Sakar has recalled the Vivitar Blender Bottles and says the product poses a laceration hazard. The company has recalled approximately 199,000 units of the blender, which is commonly sold at Targets both in-store and online. They were distributed to stores between December 2024 and January 2025 and retail for approximately $5.
