The festival will feature Halal Foods, a Kids Zone, Henna Tattoos, a petting zoo, and a bazaar. The event is sponsored by Mayor Sam Joshi, Masjid Al Wali, the Muslim Center of Middlesex County, the Muslim Community of New Jersey, and the Edison Muslim Community Center.

EDISON, NJ - A good samaritan saved an elderly man who had crashed into the PetSmart sign on Route 27. Police say the man had suffered a medical episode, causing him to crash the car. According to Police Chief Thomas Bryan, the crash occurred on Tuesday at 5:48 AM. The elderly man is from Menlo Park Terrace in Metuchen. A Piscataway man named Charles Parry witnessed the driver speed through the parking lot and crash into the sign.

EDISON, NJ - A time capsule from 2000 was recently dug up outside of James Madison Intermediate School by former alumni, which includes Mayor Sam Joshi. The Mayor was joined by some of his fellow alumni to unveil what students and teachers had buried exactly 25 years ago. The students and staff at JMI buried the time capsule on June 2, 2000, and the contents have remained a mystery since its burial, according to the township.

According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Officer Christopher Siedenburg’s use of force was “deadly but non-fatal.” It was investigated by the prosecutor’s office and supervised by the NJ Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability.

Axel Palomares, age 50, was arrested at his home in Morristown on Tuesday, according to prosecutors.
