Celina City Council member Philip Ferguson was not censured after a tie vote by the council April 8. What happened? On the night of the vote, three members voted in favor, two abstained and Ferguson voted against the censure. said the censure was approved and adjourned the April 8 meeting. There’s a new financial center at H-E-B in North Frisco. EECU, a not-for-profit credit union, began taking customers in early April, offering a range of services. EECU will celebrate its grand opening on April 17. At the H-E-B location, EECU has two personal teller machines with live video chat capabilities, and two offices where members can meet with advisors to discuss their finances.

Celina will pay an additional $140,274 for services related to the construction of Ownsby Parkway. The project included the construction of six lanes on Ownsby, according to the city’s website. City Council approved a change order in this amount as part of its consent agenda April 8. The increased cost is due to electric pole relocation delays. This relocation led to a three-month delay in the project. Construction was completed in January, according to the city’s website.

Celina City Council approved an amendment to a design contract for Parvin Road in the amount of $305,000. The amendment is for rights-of-way acquisition on 20 parcels of land. The work on Parvin Road could lead to business and resident relocation, according to city documents. The council awarded a design contract to Cobb Fendley in August 2023 to design Parvin as a four-lane concrete road from FM 1385 to Dallas Parkway.
