Dry air and steady winds are creating an elevated fire risk across New Hampshire. The Granite State remains at high risk for fire danger and fire spread, meaning wildfires are more likely. Relative humidity has been low, between 15% and 25%, especially south of the mountains. >> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <<Winds out of the northwest have sustained around 10 and 20 mph, with gusts reaching 30 mph in some areas.

SPREAD ACROSS THE GROUND. NEW HAMPSHIRE SAYS THE WILDFIRE SMOKE COULD IMPACT OUR AIR QUALITY HERE, SO. METEOROLOGIST JACQUELINE THOMAS IS HERE NOW, AND, JACKIE, IT’S A BRIGHT, BEAUTIFUL DAY OUT THERE. DOESN’T SEEM TO BE THAT SMOKY HAZE IN THE AIR, BUT COULD THAT SMOKE MAKE ITS WAY UP HERE TO NEW HAMPSHIRE? THERE IS A CHANCE THAT SOME OF THAT SMOKE MAY DRIFT OVERHEAD. THE GOOD NEWS IS WE’RE NOT EXPECTING ANY HIGH IMPACTS OR ANY MAJOR IMPACTS FROM THIS, AT LEAST AT THIS POINT.

Thanks for watching. I'm meteorologist Jacqueline Thomas heading through our weekend, we saw those changes, the warmth yesterday and then the cooler temperatures for our Sunday, but also the wind, some of the maximum gusts pushing over 40 MPH in some spots like Manchester, Rochester, gusts of 4640 mile per hour gust in Plymouth, so it has. *** windy day, but those winds will continue to die down through the night. And then as we head into Monday we get back into some sunshine.

A great start to the week ahead #Monday with some #sunshine and warmer temps with highs in the 70s. There will be a few more clouds around, especially up north where there may be a quick stray shower or sprinkle. Otherwise a quiet stretch to start the week. Enjoy! #NHwx https://t.co/wvpaLLEPGI

#Chilly night ahead as lows fall back into the 30s for many. Patchy #frost will be possible, esp. N & W of Manchester. Cover any sensitive plants outdoors. The last frost on avg. occurs in the next week or so for southeastern NH with areas up north seeing frost into June. #NHwx https://t.co/t1L4PnhGYr

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there! I hope everyone could enjoy the sunshine today. Beautiful shot from Plymouth right now, not a cloud to be seen with a clear sky and budding landscape. It will be chilly tonight though, patchy frost possible. #NHwx #sunday https://t.co/bo43PXmvzz
