Whatever the weather, you can either commiserate about the rain indoors or bask in the sun with a pint in a beer garden somewhere. And if you overindulge, you have an extra day (or two) to lie in bed and ponder your life choices.

6 1/1 While I don't claim to be an expert, opening a new restaurant must be a stressful time. You've got to offer something new to customers, grab their attention - and then hold it long enough to make them loyal patrons. Doing this in a big city is one thing - but in a tiny village something else entirely.

I was mad enough to try the Domino's garlic and herb Easter egg (Image: NQ) When my mind wanders, one topic which my brain likes to mull over is cheese. Not necessarily the taste, but the concept of it. Who thought: 'let's leave this bowl of milk to go off, strain it, let that get really mouldy and then eat it years later'? And, for that matter, who looked at a cow or a goat feeding their babies and thought I want a piece of that action?

10 1/1 With the clocks going forward and long hazy evenings just around the corner, cocktail season is upon us. Don't get me wrong - any season can be cocktail season. But there is something about the sun which just makes me crave a well-crafted concoction with a view. Rockwater on Hove seafront more than fits the bill.

It’s a title I wear like a perverse badge of honour, always looking to tick off that next weird and wonderful “delicacy”. So I hit the mother lode when I paid a visit to Mr Wang Hot Pot in Queen's Road and was confronted with shelves of mysterious yet enticing delicacies.
