Cedar Coast, a developer in B.C.'s Lower Mainland, has started work on a two-building industrial project in Richmond near the Vancouver airport that will deliver almost a quarter-million square feet of strata product into the market. Preloading of the site has just started, and pre-sales are now under way, Aaron Fedora, vice-president, development with Cedar Coast, said. Orion Construction is building the 44-unit project called Bridgeport Central, located at Van Horne Way and River Drive.

Amexon Development Corp. is partnering with Missoni, one of the world’s most recognizable fashion houses, on an upscale Toronto high-rise project which will mark the Italian designer's debut in Canadian real estate. The fashion house’s haute couture sensibility will be all over MISSONI SKY, which is proposed as a 60-storey luxury tower with 795 units. It is to rise from an eight-storey brick podium housing a 177-suite, five-star boutique hotel.

It has been a summer of highs and lows for Oxford Properties' small, but high-quality Canadian hotel and resorts portfolio. Oxford's Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta has just reopened after portions of the resort were damaged by a wildfire which tore through the region in July. On a happier note, however, Oxford was able to celebrate recently with news that four of its seven properties have been awarded Michelin Keys.
