Compton Care will be running its first Cuppa for Compton Week, a weeklong celebration of baking, cakes, cups of tea and getting together with friends and family. Running from Friday, June 6 to Friday, June 13, Cuppa for Compton Week is a chance to come together and raise funds to support Compton Care’s vital work providing specialist palliative and bereavement support. A spokeswoman for Compton Care said: "Cuppa for Compton Week is taking place this June and we’d love you to join in.

The council said that fixing roads and tackling potholes was a priority and more resurfacing will be taking place across Wolverhampton throughout the summer. Roads to be given a new lease of life in the coming weeks will include Cannock Road, A41 Wellington Rd, Merridale Rd, Lichfield St, Neachells Lane, Wrottesley Rd, Wood End Rd, A4039 Millfields Rd, Whitgreave Avenue, Ruskin Ave, Hall Lane, Prestwood Rd, Rookery St and Cumberland Rd, with more improvements to follow.

Across the Black Country, there are pubs which have been closed for years due to lack of use, damage caused by fires or flooding, or which have been temporarily closed due to refurbishment works. Some have since reopened looking new and shiny, while offering the same pub experience as before, while others have plans being put in place to help restore them to past glories and reopen at a later date.

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) released the new CGI images of Dudley Interchange on Tuesday, offering the public a first look at the inside of the multi-million pound state-of-the-art facility. The internal layout images offer a preview of what TfWM is calling the modern, passenger-focused design that will transform public transport in the heart of Dudley, enabling passengers to seamlessly link between bus and the new Metro services.
