The cattle market was as hot as the weather and competition when bid-takers from across the U.S. and Canada gathered in Iowa for a chance to be named the world’s top auctioneer. Thirty competitors sold nearly 6,900 head of cattle to a busy sale barn crowd during a long day at Dunlap Livestock Auction in western Iowa June 7. Dean Edge of Rimbey, Alberta took the title of World Livestock Auctioneer Champion.
